David Meister Fashion Presentation Recap

Celebrity dress designer, David Meister, made a quick stop in Houston to present his latest collection at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Houston Galleria. In addition to meeting and greeting customers, David hosted a fashion presentation with models to showcase his Spring 2012 designs.

I was dying to interview the esteemed American designer that’s known for his sophisticated, yet body conscious dress designs.
We chatted for a few to briefly discuss his inspiration, collection, designs and what women could expect today.
Here are six things you need to know:
  • His designs are beautiful and elegant, using stylish fabrications like stretch satin, matte jersey, and silk chiffon.  His first job was with Danskin, so this definitely played a huge role in how he designs dresses for comfort and stretch.
  • David’s dresses have been worn by many socialites and celebrities. Tina Fey, Diane Lane, Sharon Stone, Andie MacDowell, Octavia Spencer, Penelope Ann Miller, Toni Braxton, Felicity Huffman, and Jessica Lange are a few of the contemporary thinking, fashionable ladies who have all chosen David Meister for the Red Carpet moments of their lives.
  • His pieces are timeless! You can totally buy a dress today and wear it five years from now.
  • David’s design inspiration stems from travel, fabric, music–you name it!
  • He loves Cher! Who doesn’t? His love for Cher sparked his interested in fashion.
  • People love his clothes because they’re super comfortable.  Being comfortable while making a fashion statement is a huge plus for me!
