Winter Wardrobe Staple: Turtle Neck Sweater

My day typically starts at 5:45 in the morning. It takes me about 20 minutes to really wake up.  My top priority to get my day started is making sure that I start by filling my spiritual, emotional, mental and physical cup FIRST. Shortly after, things are rocking and rolling for the day. Before you know it, I have a two-year-old tot running and I’m chasing right behind.

Ok. I love to effortlessly look my best for the day ahead. Who doesn’t? My winter uniform has been a black turtle neck paired with a denim or other type of bottom. Why? It’s quick, polished, simple, and stylish.  Let’s be real — I don’t have time, ever, to stand in my closet and take out excessive or unnecessary time to pick out the perfect look.  If you take more than five minutes to pick out your wardrobe, you need to either start over or call out for the day. Decision fatigue is another thing I also think about by wasting time in my closet (being mentally worn out by menial decisions). Let’s get back on task to answer why a turtle neck works.

You can dress it up or dress it down.  Like in the pic posted above, I paired it with a pair of faux leather pants from Zara.  My fave! You can easily transition into a sneaker or swap the pants for a pair of sweats or denim bottom.  It’s all about your style and what works for your wardrobe. If you’re smart and looking to get out of the door in a cute flash, find the right closet staple that works for your wardrobe.
